Bought a motor from a wrecking yard. Put it in and found a loud noise in it. Every source I asked told me it was a lifter rattle. Took all 12 lifters, pushrods, and rocker assemblies from my old motor and swapped then into the new one. Still had the rattle. Was informed that the bent and dented oil pan was probably being hit by the crankshaft making the noise. Pulled the oil pan today and could not find any interference marks that would show this type of contact. What I did find was 3 quarter sized pieces of aluminum in the oil pan and discovered a broken skirt on the #2 piston. since the skirt keeps the piston oriented straight in the cylinder bore, the noise I've been hearing is the piston slapping the cylinder wall. Now, after I return from my vacation, I get the fun of installing another motor in my truck as a warranty replacement and have been told I will receive a vehicle for my use while I do another motor swap. Oh what fun it is to be a wrench twister!

In the ongoing battle with my truck, I fount that the clutch linkage repair parts I got from TW Ford in Tacoma this morning were actually the right size for my application! Although I got the linkage apart after making a tool to remove a lever off of a splined shaft, I found there was not enough room to put it all back together again. So I had to virtually remove all the guts of my dashboard to install the new parts. "Murphy" fought me tooth and nail in my attempts until I did an end-run around him and kicked his ass. Washing up to test drive it now. Will add report when I get back. Well that was an interesting experience, I am happy to report that for the first time since I have owned this truck, the clutch IS working properly! It now has full pedal travel and return, and the system now generates enough hydraulic pressure for complete disengagement of the pressure plate from the clutch disk. The relief of the constant drag from the previously partial release of the disk has improved the ease of gear shifting by at least 500%. I DECLARE VICTORY ON MY CLUTCH REPAIR!

I can not help but wonder why this site is so ______ that it sends me, via e-mail, almost every notification twice. Probably just another program glitch that they do not care to spend the time and money to fix. Or maybe it has to do with the TrannyDates.com header being replaced by the HornyWife parent site and each is sending a notification. Anyone else notice this situation? And in less than a day the TrannyDates.com header has returned.

new radiator so it doesn't overheat again, changed lifters pushrods and rockers, still has a lifter klacking noise, put it together and ran it tonight, and the alternator decided it was time for a bearing screech to start. SOMEBODY PLEASE KILL ME ALREADY! but with my luck, I would only end up a maimed invalid. LOL

isn't it amazing how you can get SO used to daily seeing a new friend so quickly that the first time they aren't there you actually get depressed by their absence?

Got it back into somewhat reasonable running order only to find leaks in the aluminum radiator. Pulled the radiator and took it in for repairs only to be told it is unrepairable. So I have had to order a new one to be delivered on Monday the 29th. Still trying to get the clutch linkage bushings replaced to correct drivability issues and hope to be mobile again sometime this week. Wish me luck!

Ever since it overheated and blew the head gasket on Memorial Day, I've been working on correcting the problem. I started by replacing the head gasket, got it to run again, but the 80lb steel head had warped causing a lack of power and rough running so I started checking on a replacement head. Turns out that a new head was going to cost as much as a used replacement engine. I've changed to the used engine now and find I am unhappy with some of it's noises. A phantom klacking sound, that I thought had been fixed by cleaning, rebuilding and reinstalling the valve train parts from the lifters to the rocker arms. This has reduced the noise by 60% instead of eliminating it completely as I had hoped. I am now tired of working on it so I am going to drive it as is and see if the extra lubrication I've added helps.

Well I put a new/used engine in it, so now it runs and I can drive it but it seems to have a lifter noise that I don't like. have to check that with the guy I got it from 8 days ago. That should occur tomorrow after 1 more test drive this evening to North Point Bar & Grill for Karoke tonight. Hope I have good luck with it.

My truck is 25 years old, it has been overheated too many times and the motor is no longer repairable. So I bought a new old used motor as cheap as I could afford and am in the process of installing it. Doing all the work myself since I can not afford to pay a mechanic shop to do it for me. If everything goes according to my plans, I should be driving again sometime this week. That would make getting out to meet others much more practical...... wish me luck all.

First was a "m2m" but I'm not gay enough.....next was a non-passable CD, I'm still not gay enough.... But I'll keep looking and trying and hoping to find an alluring passable CDTvTsTg that can find me desirable as well.
